To The Online Home of Camp Hermosa!

Camp Hermosa is a Christian camp ministry of the Guelph, Middlesex-Lambton-Huron, and Owen Sound Associations of the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec. For more than 85 years, Camp Hermosa has sought to extend the life of the local church in the middle of nature's beauty.

Camp Hermosa is ideally situated on the bluffs overlooking beautiful Lake Huron, a short 10-minute drive north of Goderich, ON.  Nestled between the Huron shoreline and 35 acres of forest, Camp Hermosa has the perfect mix of natural beauty and open space for all kinds of activities.

Since 1929, Camp Hermosa has welcomed thousands of campers of all ages and has changed lives through our summer camps.  Our focus is relationships - small groups forming Christian communities where campers develop meaningful and long-lasting friendships, learn new skills, and grow in self-confidence, all while having tons of fun.  Daily worship and Bible Study times inspire our campers to discover more about God and to make faith in Christ a part of their daily lives.

For decades, campers of all ages have agreed, "You Belong Here"

Mission Statement

Camp Hermosa exists...

...To extend the life of the local Christian Church in an
         outdoor setting.

...To provide a safe and secure Christian learning
environment in the midst of the beauties of nature.

...To help campers of all ages come to know God,
themselves, and others in meaningful ways.
...To provide opportunities for campers to make
         decisions for Jesus Christ.

...To recognize, use, and develop the gifts of believers.

...To show that the Christian life relates to the whole
person - body, mind, emotions and spirit.

...To bring individuals together to be a part of an
         environment of love.

...  To challenge Christians to become involved
         in missions in the world.

Camp Programs

Camps for Kids
Our youth camps help campers develop meaningful friendships through both large and small-group activities.  Daily worship and Bible study are a priority that will inspire campers to make faith a part of their everyday lives.
Your child will be well cared for by our trained and enthusiastic Cabin Leaders (many of whom are former campers).  Our staff are committed to providing a safe environment where campers feel loved, accepted, and secure.

Camps for Families
Family Camps include programs for every age group and are a fantastic opportunity to meet and fellowship with other families.  With activities and programs constantly running, you decide how active or restful your family vacation will be.  There are two options – Family Camp is for families of all shapes and sizes, while Single Parent Family camp is uniquely designed to meet the needs of single parents and their children.

Facilities & Site Rentals

11 cabins onsite can provide accommodation for up to 9 individuals (8 campers, 1 leader). Additionally, we have a dining hall with full service kitchen; the Norman Dabbs Memorial Lodge - a multipurpose activity lodge with fireplace; the Albert Schweitzer Nature cabin; a craft cabin; and brand new men’s and women’s washrooms and showers.
Campers stay active and engaged through the use of our sports facilities (beach volleyball, baseball diamond, soccer field, basketball court), in-ground pool, archery range, outdoor campfire pit, and BMX bike trails. Our woods offer a variety of trails for hiking.

Camp Hermosa is available for rental to church groups in the spring and fall.  Rental is for the site only; churches and groups are asked to make their own food arrangements.  All outside groups are required to furnish proof of adequate Liability Insurance coverage for their attendees.
Men’s groups, women’s groups, youth groups, and church families find a weekend at Camp Hermosa to be an excellent retreat location.
